1880s-1900s, UK
Such a ladylike umbrella! This lovely late Victorian - early Edwardian example showcases a very fine handle of genuine twist-carved bone paired with gold-plated silver. Beautiful curls of floral hand etching can be seen on the base, with its former owner's monogram in the middle. Umbrella frame is of a dark painted metal, presumably darkened brass, and has been re-covered in the 1940s with a durable nylon in a sweet peachy pink. Features a ring and button clasp. Umbrella is in good working order with no damage to the water-resistant material. Pair this your favourite ladies outfit to add a touch of grandeur, or accessorize your Victorian costume! Beautiful as a display piece.
