Orders & Shipping


Orders

All orders are subject to availability. Items in the shopping cart may be purchased by other customers. We ask that you review your order carefully, as it cannot be modified once submitted. You will receive a notification email once the order is placed, and another once the order has been accepted and shipped with tracking and courier information. We strive to ship orders within 3 business days upon placement, subject to product availability and quality checks. Online exclusives and custom orders may not be available immediately, and may be shipped separately at a later date. In the case of backordered items, or other issues, we will contact you for further processing and may result in a delay. Validity of product dates will be counted as the order’s ship out date.

*We do not ship on weekends and public holidays.

*Please contact us if you do not receive the ship out information emails within a week of order placement.

 

Products & Pricing

The displayed pricing on our site is tax-free. Your country of delivery may incur taxes and duties which are customer responsibility. Select Klondike products displayed on the website are available in our Hong Kong store. Reversely, some items available in-store may not be found on the-klondike.com.

Stores may also have different prices or promotional events at different times. Sale prices on the website are internet-only specials and do not reflect in-store pricing unless expressly stated. Discount codes cannot be applied once an order has been placed.

 

Payment Options

We accept cash, American Express, Visa, Mastercard, JCB, and China Unionpay in-store at our Sheung Wan location. American Express, Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Discover, and China Unionpay are accepted through Paypal in our online store. Please contact us should you wish to pay by other methods to discuss other possibilities.

By placing an order using one of the above credit/debit card payment methods, you confirm that the credit/debit card account used is yours or that you have been authorized by the owner to use it. If your card issuer refuses to authorize payment to Klondike, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery.

For CUP payments, payments will be debited immediately when the order is placed. But your order will only be confirmed when we send you an email to confirm the goods have been dispatched to you and your payment has been accepted.

All online transactions will be automatically charged in Hong Kong Dollars by our service provider, including gift cards and e-gift cards. Our currency converter provides an approximate estimate only. A currency exchange will occur via your chosen method of payment once the transaction is complete.

***Our payment gateway is supported by PayPal. Please note that the default payment currency for our store is Hong Kong Dollars.  For any credit cards in another currency, the amounts payable would automatically be converted to HKD at checkout. Any orders that require a currency conversion will be charged a 2.5% Transaction Processing Fee.

  

Local Shipping

We offer free delivery for non-furniture purchases exceeding HK$800. For non-furniture purchases under HK$800, we charge HK$60 flat rate tracked shipping & handling for local deliveries within Hong Kong with Hong Kong Post or our couriers.

Free local furniture delivery for fully-priced furniture purchases exceeding HK$10,000 per item. Furniture items priced under HK$10,000 is subject to a HK$800 delivery charge per piece. Sale items are not eligible for free shipping and will require a separate quote. Non-furniture purchases cannot be combined with furniture purchases and shipping will be charged and delivered separately. Furniture delivery to Outlying Islands, Discovery Bay, and remote areas will incur a separately quoted surcharge on both free and charged furniture deliveries. Delivery of in-stock furniture items will be arranged within 2 weeks of purchase. The lead time for non-stocked furniture pieces will differ according to each product. Please inquire for further information.

General Shipping & Handling fee will be quoted and added upon checkout. Remote area quotes, will be quoted through email communication.

 

Warehouse Pick Up

Warehouse pick up is available at our Tai Po Location for furniture items only. Please indicate for warehouse pick up at check out, and no shipping & handling fees will be added. If you are pre-buying items from abroad, please fill in your shipping address in Hong Kong (or use our warehouse's address), and it will allow for the 'Warehouse Pick Up' option. Proof of purchase (order confirmation email) and valid photo ID of purchaser will be required to acquire goods. In the case you cannot come yourself, we require photo ID of the purchaser, a letter of authorization, and the proof of purchase. You or your representative will be asked to sign the confirmation of receipt, and you accept the responsibility for the products ordered from that moment on as order fulfilled.

You will be notified once items are ready for pick up. Purchases should be collected within 10 business days of notification, and should you need to extend your collection date, please email us at info@the-klondike.com with your order number. Items may be moved after 10 business days and require further scheduling for collection. Purchases will be cancelled without refund after 30 days of sending the pick up notification,  in the event of non-collection and/or failure to reach you through your supplied contact information.

 

International Shipping

For non-furniture purchases, we offer Standard Flat Rate Shipping rates by country, and Free Worldwide Shipping* for purchases over HK$3500. International shipping fees are calculated at checkout. Items may arrive in separate packages. Please note that you will be responsible for your country’s import duties and taxes, if applicable. Your local authorities or delivery service will contact you regarding these charges. Local customs clearance procedures may also result in delays. International shipments will be shipped by couriers with tracking such as DHL and equivalent.

    ***Due to shipping restrictions, we usually do not ship pressurized, flammable, and certain liquid products (such as some perfume goods) outside of Hong Kong. Such hazardous shipments will incur a surcharge and may be unsuccessful . Please see individual products for restrictions, and email us if you wish to purchase restricted items.

     

    Refused shipments

    If the shipment is refused and returned to us, we will contact you with the option of re-delivering or a refund in the form of store credit for your next purchase. Please note that you will have to pay all related cost incurred (re-delivery shipping cost, return shipment cost, taxes & duties etc.).    

           

    Lost shipments

    If a shipment is suspected to be lost, we are more than happy to help track down your shipment, and in the unfortunate case, to refund your order. Please note that the shipment must  be confirmed as lost by the courier to qualify for refund. This process of investigation might take up to 3 months.           

    To check on the most up-to-date tracking information, please contact DHL or the specified courier before emailing us, as there may be a time lag between the actual status and its online status. Please note that for Hong Kong Post we can only submit an inquiry after 14 days after the posting date.
